Don’t trash your unwanted old PWC. It can join my jet ski Shelter! I will try to give it a second life or dispose of it in a responsible way.

How to get rid of an old jet ski in DMV area

It won't cost you anything

If you have an abandoned jet ski you would like to get rid of, I can come and remove it.

I do not pay for this service, nether I charge for it.

I am a mechanic and try to give older jet skis a second life by putting my time, skills and parts to it. The ones, that can not be fixed, will be taken apart for parts and hulls recycled.

Displace a toxic "consumer" culture by a “fix it” culture

If it’s cost-effective to fix a broken watercraft, I will attempt to repair it. If the repair costs are prohibitively high, the PWC will be recycled.

Because I pay for recycling, I am only interested in skis that have parts in them. Removal of valuable parts allows me to cover losses for my time, transportation, and disposal fees.

In order to dispose of a fiberglass hull, I must comply with local waste management agency regulations and laws. I have to disassemble the jet ski until I have a bare fiberglass hull which is ready for recycling, drain fluids and separately recycle hazardous materials in an environmentally responsible way.

It’s not as easy as it sounds but I do it because I want clean soil and water for future generations.

So, If you’re feeling charitable and need to free up some space in your yard, let me know!

HOW TO TRASH JET SKI

Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a marine salvage scrap yard in DC, Virginia or Maryland. Local boat junk yards simply do not exist in this area. The only way to dispose of an old jet ski is to recycle it

Disposal can only be done at the local waste management landfill. But not all recycling centers accept this type of scrap. And you can’t just dump it, you must comply with the recycling facility guidelines to meet the sustainable disposal requirements. To make the process environmentally friendly the watercraft needs to be fully demolished. Then you can bring the fiberglass hull to the transfer station. Hazardous waste, such as chemical fluids, oil, gasoline, and batteries accepted separately.

Due to the complexity of this recycling procedure many people prefer donating old jet skis to individuals and businesses who are interested in taking water crafts to donor salvage usable components and spare parts.
